i saw pickens in an interview yesterday and that's not exactly what he's doing. he rethinking his approach on the massive farm(s) because i believe he knows it can't be done so he's thinking smaller farms. now he didn't say this but i think he also knows it won't pass the sniff test and one thing he did not take into consideration was the enviros. no matter what we try to do in this country this small group of tree huggers start the lawsuits which make the projects take years to implement. he did say he's more for the natural gas avenue, which he advised in this country alone we have 3 Trillion cubic feet of this gas, enough to last for at least a hundred years when used for transportation and other energy needs. pickens is a smart business man and he knows what he's up against.
References :
He realized that wind is not going to be the answer. It's great while the wind is blowing, but any other time they are just pretty statues that are expensive. Just wait for the cap and trade to pass, we are going to have blackouts all over. Wind and solar will never keep up with the summer electric draw. Get ready to take America back 40 years
References :
Pickens has run into some problems and admits that he jumped on it too fast. This wind and solar is being shoved down our throats while scientists could be looking at other forms of energy. We need to slow down and start drilling our own oil while science and not politics finds the right energy to replace fossil fuels.

of course! Depending on where you live and providing that there is enough sun to for the panels to soak up. People use solar panels to power their homes all the time, a gym wouldn't be much different except that it would prob use a substantial amount more of power.
References :
http://www.starcomsolar.com

That's not the way I read it. He said he got ahead of himself purchasing the generators before wrapping up the leases for places to put them. He said he is looking for locations to place the wind turbines. In his own words:

"It doesn't mean that wind is dead," said Pickens, who runs the Dallas-based energy investment fund BP Capital. "It just means we got a little bit too quick off the blocks."

So dragging Obama into it is way off the mark.

Pickens is an idiot.

Wind power has its uses, but is it not consistent enough to be used as a replacement for power generated using coal, nuclear, or natural gas. Anyone that wants to be 100% sure their electricity stays on 100% of the time would be foolish to move their business or their family to any area powered by wind.
References :
yes it will make it worse. Everything will cost more from electricity to bread. Everything you purchase will be more because of Cap and Trade. The only alternative energy that will work now, is nuclear. But nobody wants to admit it.
References :
Yes, definitely!

The new solar panels dont even need direct sun to make power!
References :
Cap and Trade is step two (stimulus was step 1) in destroying the economy and creating the chaos necessary for socialism to emerge.
References :
Yes you can and yes it has been done look at the site below.

I would recommend a variety of green ideas depending on area. Consisting of solar pvc (this is the solar most people think of and if you look at government incentives they are long term money makers) solar thermal for hot water, insulation, wind turbine, and maybe even the novelty human power treadmill or two.
References :
http://www.movementboulder.com/blog/index.php?cat=5
