What are some good "Green" or alternative energy stocks?
I am really interested in investing in Green technology, specifically solar, wind, or hydrogen energy. If you could just give a few names of stocks/companies that would succeed i would greatly appreciate it thanks.

The best thing you could do is quit using energy yourself. No heat, No computer, No car. I don’t mean to be rude but if you can’t do that then just shut up. Talk is cheap, especially what should I INVEST in talk. You rich hypocrite

there really isn’t a specific company that is "green" they have to make money to research other forms of power
most funding is private groups funded by the gov. some companies (oil, electric, research) have divisions for it.
better off putting your money in a stock that will make money and then buy "green" products ie: lightbulbs, appliances, electronics, etc…
then your stock will go up and you can spend more of your hippy money (jk) on "green" products

I think that you’re really going to have to do a lot of research on your own. Most of the companies which are investing in "alternative" energies are either small, privately held companies or they’re larger, traditional energy companies who are looking to diversify.
Another thing to consider about "alternative" energies is that they’re often controversial and cannot be set up anywhere. The Cape Wind project off Nantucket Sound has a lot of people up in arms against it for aesthetic reasons. Large-scale solar energy sites tend to be restricted to places that get a certain percentage of sunshine a year. And I haven’t heard of any hydrogen energy plants yet, but I expect that they’ll be forced to be located in remote locations because hydrogen is just to combustible.
